Today In JS, Episode Two
Welcome to Today In JS, a list of the JavaScript news for the day. Enjoy!
- Bill Higgins wrote a writeup about JavaScript loading strategies, optimization, caching, debugging and more. Be sure to check this one out!
- Firefox will have built in development tools! Firebug, a much loved Firefox extension for the same purpose, will be undergoing a metamorphosis because of this change. They will be working to make the tool cross browser, which is exciting, creating new tools including a CSS debugging tool, and working more with the community. Exciting work!
- Sencha announced the Sencha Animator, a tool for building CSS3 animations much like Flash or the new Adobe Edge tool. The demos look very impressive! The tool is a desktop application written using ExtJS. Sweet!
- jMockups is a web app that lets you design and share website mockups. All editing is done using drag and drop. Check out the demo here.
- Artisan JS is a JavaScript library that aims to make working with the canvas API easier, especially in its ability to create and manipulate layers.
- Ben Nadel has an interesting post on Invoking JavaScript Methods With Both Named and Ordered Arguments as you can in some other languages.
That’s it for today! If you have a project or article that you think should be included in these lists, or as a full article, please let me know by submitting a link here. Thanks!
