Today In JS, Episode Two

Welcome to Today In JS, a list of the JavaScript news for the day.  Enjoy!

  1. Bill Higgins wrote a writeup about JavaScript loading strategies, optimization, caching, debugging and more.  Be sure to check this one out!
  2. Firefox will have built in development tools!  Firebug, a much loved Firefox extension for the same purpose, will be undergoing a metamorphosis because of this change.  They will be working to make the tool cross browser, which is exciting, creating new tools including a CSS debugging tool, and working more with the community.  Exciting work!
  3. Sencha announced the Sencha Animator, a tool for building CSS3 animations much like Flash or the new Adobe Edge tool.  The demos look very impressive!  The tool is a desktop application written using ExtJS.  Sweet!
  4. jMockups is a web app that lets you design and share website mockups.  All editing is done using drag and drop.  Check out the demo here.
  5. Artisan JS is a JavaScript library that aims to make working with the canvas API easier, especially in its ability to create and manipulate layers.
  6. Ben Nadel has an interesting post on Invoking JavaScript Methods With Both Named and Ordered Arguments as you can in some other languages.

That’s it for today!  If you have a project or article that you think should be included in these lists, or as a full article, please let me know by submitting a link here.  Thanks!
